If you’re new to my channel, my name is Laurel Portié. I’m the founder of adcoachingfor7.com where I have now taught over 14,000 business owners how to create, launch and be profitable with simple $5 ads. I, myself, built my own consulting business to over $3M in revenue using this $5 ad strategy.
How I got here…
2002: While still in college, I got hired by an ABC tv station to write the nightly news teasers
2004: I graduated from college with a major in Media communications.
2007: After posting a few of my news teasers on YouTube, I got hired by one of the biggest CBS stations in the country.
2008: My manager asked me if I would do an “experiment” to see if social media would be a viable way to grow CBS’ audience.
2009: I created a “in the first 10 minutes” campaign to help us CRUSH our competition at the 10pm news slot. (This would later become the framework for my signature video ad formula.)
2010: I design a $5 ad strategy to launch new TV shows/news programs on social media.
2013: I get hired by CBS over in Seattle and “social media” officially becomes a REAL position.
2015: Facebook releases its “LIVE” feature. My news director says “Don’t do it.” But I did, and we broke the story that would make us #1 for that entire week.
2016: I meet my wife. She wants to “start a T-shirt business.”
2017: We start the business, have some success and attend a Daymond John workshop. They tell us we should ditch the t-shirts, and go ALL in on an advertising agency model because of my Facebook ad skills.
2018: I go LIVE on Facebook to see if I could actually get clients.
2021: I hit my first million while only spending $36K total.
2023: I hit my second million and hit the best sellers list on Amazon with my book Super Duper Profitable Ads (Buy it here: https://a.co/d/1J9iPhz )
2024: We now have a $3M+ business because of cheap video ads.
