Losing and gaining weight is extremely simple. Coming from someone who’s gained and lost literally hundreds of pounds over the last 5 years, manipulating your bodyweight is not rocket science and is actually super straightforward. All you have to do is consume less calories than you burn if you want to lose weight, and more calories than you burn if you want to gain weight. It really is that simple, and anyone who tells you otherwise does not understand basic dietary principles. However, before you click post, on that angry paragraph you have already written me in the comment section, just because losing or gaining weight is simple, does not mean it is easy. Yes, at the end of the day, all you have to do is be in a calorie deficit or surplus, but for a lot of people out there, that may prove to be exceedingly difficult, especially for those who work long hours, don’t have much time to exercise, can’t afford super healthy low calorie or high calorie home-prepped meals, or just simply find it difficult to eat less or more because of cravings, long time dietary habits, lack of sleep, stress, metabolism, or mental or self image issues which overtime has damaged your relationship with food. You see how something so simple can suddenly become incredibly complex. So don’t beat yourself up just because you’re not losing or gaining weight, it does not mean you’re lazy, simple things can just sometimes be the most challenging. But thankfully, 99% of humans on this planet all lose and gain weight the exact same way, so just because it may be hard does not mean it is impossible. Keep pushing forward and set small goals over time, and remember it is you vs you, not anybody else. And I just wanted to say a huge thankyou to everyone who’s been using code “MAXE” on myprotein. About Me: I started lifting at 17 years old in 2019, the summer before I entered my freshman year of college. I was a mere 120 pounds at 5'8, and my only goal was to gain weight.
