Home Made Electric Ride on Car with Remote Control
I made this car from a vintage style kids pedal car. The car can be driven by a child using the foot pedals or by a remote control.
This turned out to be much more powerful than I had intended. Fortunately the controller I’m using allows me to map a throttle curve so that the car is controllable. There is also an adjustable current limiter which I usually turn down when kids are driving the car themselves so that they don’t get too carried away (literally). The motor I used (link below) is rated to 450W but can overdrive to about 1000W (in some places these motors are sold as 1000W). This is heaps more than your typical children's ride on cars which typically have 50W motors. This extra power makes it easily manage steep hills, tall grass, fat kids, adults, drifting….
This is still a bit of a work in progress, there’s a few small tidying things (like electrical cables) yet to be sorted.
