New Zealand Hiking - Overnight Tramping to Crosbies Hut (Vlog)
I went for an overnight tramping to Crosbies Hut in Thames-Coromandel. We rode from Auckland to Thames were we took Karaka track which was 12.9kms. It was supposed to take us 5 hours but as a bigger group and because of the muddy ground due to the rain it took us a little longer though.
The walk was very pleasant as you can see in the video but don't underestimate the length of the track and the weight you'll carry in your backpack.
The hut is equipped with:
-bunkbeds with mattresses
-toilets
-water (need to be boiled as per DOC's instructions)
-water sink
-cheminee
-gas cooker
-tea pot
-torch light
-lighter
-candles
-board games (not sure if they are left out from previous groups)
-cleaning tools (broom )
-axe to cut woods
MY TRAMPING GEAR:
-2 ltr bottle
-layers of clothes
-rain coat
-walking sticks
-sleeping bag
-snacks
-3 or 4 meals
-tooth brush & toothpaste
-rubbish bag
-towel
