A review of the new Hornby Flying Scotsman that comes with a steam generator and a TXS sound decoder pre-installed (R3991SS).
After the disappointment of the recent Black 5 which over promised and under delivered, Hornby have really pulled it back with this incredible model of an iconic locomotive.
The tooling may date from the mid 2000s, but it's super detailed and has had a modern tech upgrade with the fitting of:
a new tender close coupling connection
TXS Bluetooth Sound
flickering firebox feature
steam generator synced to sound and wheel rotation
I'm incredibly pleased with this model.
