The Infinity Blade Trilogy were perhaps the best mobile games in app store history but they are now sadly gone forever. Why were the Infinity Blade games removed from the App Store? In this video game documentary I will discuss what really happened to the Infinity Blade series. They had some of the best touch screen combat, lore and storylines, and a crazy game development story.
Infinity Blade was developed by Chair Entertainment and Epic Games by only twelve people and in just five months. Donald Mustard was the creative director of the Infinity Blade series as well as the co-creator of Fortnite. His massive success in the creation of Fortnite was also the downfall of the Infinity Blade franchise. Epic Games abandoned support for Infinity Blade as well as many of their other projects in order to move all developers over to Fortnite.
Infinity Blade 1 allowed you to customize your character with swords, shields, helmets, armor, and magic rings. You play as Siris who was attempting to defeat the deathless and defeat King Raidriar.
In Infinity Blade 2 Siris discovers his real name is Ausar and his goal is to find The Worker of Secrets. Eventually Siris brings Raidriar to the Vault of Tears and frees the worker of secrets from his prison. The worker tricks Ausar and traps him in his eternal prison.
In Infinity Blade 3 you get to play as Raidriar, Siris, and Isa. Siris is haunted by the atrocities he committed in his past life as Ausar. The Worker of Secrets is forging new infinity blades and intends to burn all life on the planet and start a new world. In the end Siris battles Galath and uses the redemption device to erase the worker's memories and turn him back into a little child.
