In todays episode I try and tackle some autumnal jobs at the allotment. However the weather is battling against me with all this rain.

I also find a false widow spider inside a plant pot. I almost got attacked by a false widow. I put my hand in the pot and damaged her nest. Which made her wriggle on my hand. I was very lucky!!!

I discuss autumnal vegetables and how to prepare and store them for winter.

While I'm starting to prepare for the new polytunnel from first tunnels..I measure the area and have discovered I will lose some of the asparagus bed which was almost ready to harvest in spring.

Next doors allotment plot has come up for rent. Do I rent another allotment plot?

The rain might be flooding the allotment but the polebeans, the runnerbeans are doing so well!

The pumpkin patch is also doing well considering all the rain. From zombie f1, baby boo, jack be little, mashed potato squash and many other squashes.

I discovered i don't have a potting area in the garden so in the next few weeks I will be showing you how to make a diy potting bench for outdoors. While potting on the spring cabbages and winter brassicas I discovered slug eggs in a brand new compost bag. So check your compost! Slugs can hatch up to 300 slug eggs in each nest. Remove them.

I potted on April spring cabbages, savoy cabbages, a mixture of kale's including cavolo nero kale. I also discuss what's the perfect spacing for brassicas in a raised bed.

In the polytunnel I've noticed the tomatoes are finally ripening in September. What a shocking season for tomatoes. I've realised I have to sacrifice all the tomatoes plants as the new polytunnel will be built very soon.

I mention my friend jane Kelly's channel and our shared love for kalibos cabbages.

I also notice the hollyhocks I was given my clare at the Farmyard garden are finally starting to bloom!

Clares channel is wonderful!

I also notice while watching Christine's Channel that she has support poles from ‪@polytunnels‬ across her hoops on her raised beds and that's inspired me to get some!

Christine's Channel is: (go take a look)

I return the next say to find the plot even more saturated by all the rain..time is ticking now with how many days I have before the new polytunnel arrives. So I need to crack on!

Linda visited from the ‪@Feelgoodgardens‬ and was gifted a lovely greyhound cabbage for her Sunday lunch. It was huge!

I had another accident at the allotment. I fell off the train sleepers that were used as a raisedbed in the herb garden. I fell and landed in someone's pumpkin patch and hurt my knee!
The nasturtiums are back! I cleared most of them off the plot but they are back and smothering the leek bed.

Next week I'll show you how to tackle an overgrown hedge and I'll show you how to dismantle a polytunnel ready for the new one.

I discuss how to harvest and store polebeans / runnerbeans for next years seed.

I've decided when I visit malvern in autumn I'll purchase a new garlic variety to add to my growing space.. I give you hints on what to look out for, ensuring you have a successful garlic season.
