Anatoly Dyatlov - was one of the accused (under article 220 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR) in the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986. He was deputy chief engineer for the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. On the night of the experiment, he was the senior at the station, was on the control panel and was in charge of the safety testing process. The test of “run out of the turbogenerator” was the possibility to check whether the inertial stroke of the turbines is enough to provide the station with electricity in the event of a power failure.
