The thin layer of fat under your baby’s skin helps him keep warm. His pancreas has started to produce hormones. He has eyelashes and eyebrows and his hair is also growing. Your little one's nose has taken shape because of the formation of cartilage. Your child's neck bones are clearly visible. If you are expecting a boy, his testicles have formed and will descend into the scrotum.
The baby is vigorously waving his hands and legs and putting his hands together now. He will probably become most active when you try to rest and think of him. When the foetus is sleeping, part of it will be in REM, or rapid eye movement sleep, when his brain activity is high and his eyes are moving behind his closed eyelids. Moreover, your baby's little ears can hear sounds from the outside world. A loud noise could wake him up.
Just like your baby, your are also putting on weight, but in general, you should be feeling well and have enough energy to lead an active lifestyle. Most of the weight you’re gaining is due to the growing foetus.
Make it a habit to talk to your baby, so he gets to know the sound of your voice even before he is born. Your growing belly increases pressure on your back so it is high time to change high heels for low and comfortable shoes, and if possible, try to avoid standing for long periods of time. Also, don’t forget to put your feet up from time to time. -
