What is Load Cell, How Load Cell Works, Wheatstone Bridge Function Explained. i explained it with theory of Wheatstone bridge and its practical experiment with examples. most commonly we use load cell to measure weight. it is also used to measure very low ohm resistors as in milliohms. it is also used to calibrate electronics equipment TMDE (Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment), i explained the structure, construction and working principle of wheatstone to understand functionality of load cell. How To Test Load Cell, 4 Wire Load Cell Test With Multimeter, Load Cell Wiring Connection. Load cell is a combination of stress gauges and strain gauges, connected in balanced Wheatstone bridge configuration. A Wheatstone bridge is an electrical circuit used to measure an unknown electrical resistance by balancing two legs of a bridge circuit, one leg of which includes the unknown component. Wheatstone bridge circuit can be used to accurately measure unknown resistance values, or as a means of calibrating measuring instruments, voltmeters, ammeters, etc, by the use of a variable resistance and a simple mathematical formula. as we know that digital multimeters test the resistance in very simplest way, but Wheatstone Bridge can be used to compare an unknown resistance to that of a known resistance to determine its value allowing very low values of resistances down in the milliohms (mΩ) range to be measured. The Wheatstone bridge (or resistance bridge) circuit can be used in a number of applications using operational amplifiers. Wheatstone Bridge Circuit can be interfaced with various transducers and sensors and microcontrollers, processors, analog to digital converters, MCUs, Arduino, PGAs, FPGs etc.
actually a Wheatstone Bridge circuit is nothing more than two simple series-parallel arrangements of resistances connected between a voltage supply terminal and ground producing zero voltage difference between the two parallel branches when it is balanced. it have two input terminals and two output terminals consisting of four resistors configured in a familiar diamond-like arrangement
