The digital storage oscilloscope we used: https://keysight.com/find/6000x
I use this scope because the big screen is useful for teaching. For beginners, I recommend the InfiniiVision 2000 X-Series or 3000T.
All of them have a built in multimeter, function generator (WaveGen), and more!

Keysight's Daniel Bogdanoff teaches about timing jitter in the thirteenth episode of The 2-Minute Guru. Period jitter is often analyzed using a TIE (time interval error) measurement and looks at jitter over a specified length of time. Usually, this is a peak-to-peak value, but can sometimes be measured as an RMS value. Cycle-to-cycle jitter, sometimes known as period-to-period jitter, measures the jitter from one cycle to the next, and is often measured as an RMS value.

The 2-Minute Guru is dedicated to teaching the basics of electrical engineering concepts and equipment.
