How to make a Star Wars scrolling / crawl opening text video in 4k | Video crawler
Today, we show you how to transform a text into a 4k UHD video that looks like like the legendary Star Wars opening crawl. I did show you earlier how to make it in 720p and 1080p but some of you wanted the higher resolution version, so here we go! As usual, all parameters can be changed to make it suit your needs and create your own custom scrolling text.

with:
-f lavfi -i nullsrc=s=3840x2160 = Creates a background 3840x2160 UHD 4k video frame (using lavfi virtual device capabilities)…
-vf = .. Start video filters...
drawbox=t=fill = … and draws a black box over it (default color is black)…
drawtext=_FX/fonts/News-Gothic-Bold.otf:textfile=starwars.txt:fontsize=75:fontcolor=0xb89801 = ... adds on top the ”starwars.txt” text, using the “News Gothic bold” font size 75 in color 0xb89801 (yellow)
x=(w-text_w)/2:y=h-100*t = … placing the text at the center (x = horizontally) and moving it up (y = vertically) by 100 pixels per seconds (t)…
drawbox = ... then draws now a 3 pixel black frame around the video…
perspective=1050:570:2790:570:-1800:H:W+1800:H:sense=destination = … and adds perspective to the whole… TIP: Check out my perspective tutorial video for more info!
drawbox=0:0:3840:216:t=fill = ... adds one black bar at the top…
drawbox=0:2160-216:3840:216:t=fill = … and one at the bottom of the video to give it a «letterbox» cinematic look…
-t 70 = ... making the video last 70s long…
output01.mp4 = … … and outputting the final result to file «output01.mp4»
