These singing lessons will help you improve your singing while recording. Using a pop filter on a microphone will stop hard consonants such as P B and T over power your mic. This tutorial shows pop filters and how they can be used.

Adding effects to a vocal track is quite easy. Once you have a vocal track recorded in Audacity you need to duplicate that track. On on the EDIT menu you need to select DUPLICATE.
Now you have two exactly the same tracks. On the left of the second track click MUTE. This will make that track temporarily silent.
Next select the first track by clicking on the grey tab on the left of the track. Now go to the EFFECT menu and select the effect you would like to use.
Once your have adjusted the settings in the effect module click OK to hear your changes. You can UNMUTE the second track to hear how the changed track sounds with the original sounding track. Adjust the GAIN on each track to a setting you like.
