Testing "Free" Incandescent Bulbs

Because of the impending incandescent light bulb ban in 2023, I figured now would be a good time to get some more incandescent bulbs to have in stock. I had some gift card money on Amazon, so that was the avenue I chose.
Most times, buying things online beats going to a store, especially if there's free shipping. This wasn't one of those times--every single pack of incandescent bulbs either had one or more broken, or simply burned out, right in the package. Every single one of these was well-packed in the box, so under normal circumstances, this should never have been a problem.
My problem is, if I bought an 8-pack of bulbs, I should receive 8 bulbs, all intact, and all working. But that wasn't what I received. I decided to contact Amazon. Always use the online chat, never call, that is what I learned. I did just that. Each pack of bulbs, I received a refund on, making all of them free. I had full intention on paying for all of them from the get-go, since I did to begin with. But since I didn't actually get the amount of bulbs I ordered, I couldn't, and shouldn't be expected to pay, full price. For free, I can't beat it. So, with a little legwork, once again, buying online beat out buying in the store.
