In this video, we are going to discuss about the @Repository.
Spring Annotation
Spring Boot Annotation
learn to use @Repository annotation in spring boot.

@Repository annotation is used to indicate that a class is a repository, which is a type of Spring bean responsible for encapsulating the interaction with a data source or a database.
Repositories in Spring are typically used to perform CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations on entities.
When you annotate a class with @Repository, it informs the Spring framework to enables features such as exception translation for database-specific exceptions into Spring's DataAccessException.
It's important to note that while @Repository is often used with classes that interact with databases, it's not limited to just database-related operations. It can also be used more broadly for other types of data access, such as accessing external systems or services.

Purpose of @Repository Annotation

1. Exception Translation:
with @Repository, Spring will catch database-related exceptions and rethrow them as Spring's DataAccessException. This can simplify exception handling in your code.
2. Bean Definition:
@Repository also signals to Spring's component scanning mechanism that this class should be considered when looking for beans to be managed by the Spring container.
It is essentially a specialization of the @Component annotation with additional functionality specific to data access
3. Consistent Naming Convention:
The @Repository annotation provides a semantic hint about the purpose of the annotated class. It follows the principle of consistent naming conventions in Spring, making it easier for developers to understand the role of a particular class in the application.
4. Integration with Spring Data:
If you are using Spring Data JPA or other Spring Data modules, the @Repository annotation is often used with classes that extend repository interfaces provided by Spring Data. Spring Data provides a set of convenient features for working with data access, and the @Repository annotation is part of the integration.
While it's not strictly necessary to use @Repository for every class that interacts with a database, it can provide benefits in terms of code organization, exception handling, and integration with other Spring features.
