'Non Scordarti - A Place of our Own' is an italian feature film, shot in the places affected by the Emilia-Lombardia earthquake of 2012. The filming took place in particular in the lower Mantua area and in Moglia, the most affected town in the area. Even if the places are real, the story told is a fictional tale: shortly after the seismic event, the young Clara (Barbara Sissa, winner of the Best Actress award at the Giano Bifronte Festival, Rome) finds herself reckoning with her past when she discovers that a place dear to her, the 'Covo', will be demolished. He then decides to track down his old friends, whom he hasn't seen for some time, to prevent him, but he will understand that many things have changed.
The film was made at low cost by iaspala production group, with the support of the local community, played by young first-time interpreters and by the 'Teatro Aperto' (Open Theatre) company (https://www.gruppoteatroaperto.it). All the technical and artistic workers did not receive economic compensation, supporting the film voluntarily, driven by passion for the project. The film was later self-distributed in some cities of Italy and in some cinema circles that kindly hosted screenings. In 2014, the film also participated in the Mantova Film Festival. Any revenues from the various screenings were all donated to post-earthquake reconstruction.
In 2018, the film was finalist at the Giano Bifronte Festival in Rome, where Barbara Sissa wins the prize for Best Leading Actress.
