Iran has accused Israel of destroying its consulate in the Syrian capital. Seven Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials, including a senior commander, were killed in the attack. Mustafa Caner, assistant professor of Iranian Studies explains why the consulate was targetted.
