Set-up:
Put the bot center stage, turn Show Stun to On, set Legend to Teros, set AI Setting to Jump, turn Damage and Position Reset on, and Set Damage to 0.
Exercise:
8.1
Pick up a sword and experiment with the ranges of down light, side light, and neutral light from a gravity cancel. Try using dash jump to space and time each attack.
8.2
Practice gravity cancel, down light, jump, down air. Experiment with all of your sword combos from a gravity cancel.
8.3
Switch to hammer and try landing a gravity cancel into each of your light attacks like you did with the sword.
8.4
Practice gravity cancel, down light, neutral air. You will need to be close to the bot to make the combo work. Experiment with all of your hammer combos from the gravity cancel.
Gravity cancel enables combos and follow ups that would be otherwise impossible. It will also let you stick out attacks in unexpected situations, and with expert timing you can use the dodge to evade an attack before canceling into one of your own. Despite all the benefits, gravity cancel remains high risk as it costs an air dodge.
