Plovdiv - the oldest city in Europe and 6th oldest city in the world, Plovdiv is the second major town in Bulgaria, after the capital city, Sofia; its history dates from almost 8000 years and it was declared the European Capital of Culture in 2019. The old town has beautiful narrow cobble streets and beautiful houses and churches; also, the pedestrian street in the city center has a lot of shops and restaurants, along with tourist sights and it ends with a relaxing park.
