The one symbol that makes Christians universally recognizable is the cross- and for Catholics, the crucifix more specifically. But why? Why would one of the most gruesome and terrifying devices of history be used to represent God and the Gospel?
In this video, Clem Harrold answers the question by going through early Church history and reminding us of the reality that, although Christ has won the victory and has given us salvation, there is still much suffering in our world today.
God allows our suffering and our daily crosses in order to sanctify the world and draw us even more closer to Christ.
