Marc Matthews - You and I - Sequenza Italo Disco Remix
Spanish-based electronic producer Sequenza has remixed the single ‘You and I’, the first release of 2022 by UK-based songwriter and producer Marc Matthews, which precedes a debut EP release in spring 2022. Out now via @RetroReverbRecords .
The original song ‘You and I’ is a modern synthpop song that retains the warmth and vibe of classic 80s synth ballads, coupled with modern pop vocals and production. ‘You and I’ is a synthpop ballad with a dark edge that shines a light on the theme of control within a relationship and the loss and void left by it. Sequeneza felt the chord progression and amazing vocals really lent themselves to a classic, early 80's retro vibe, and that vibe was Italo Disco! Sequenza has put its own spin on the genre while still respecting the essence of the original.
