OCTOBER: FURRING STRIPS | Van Build 101
Tears, splinters and endless trips to the depot—once again this diy project was way harder than we thought it would be. It took us all month to install the furring strips in the van. Main thing we learned: tape out your layout! Knowing where everything is going will help determine where you will need something to screw into.
We kept the mounting to a minimum in our van and didn’t go too crazy with the furring strips. You can easily go overboard trying to deal with every knobby thing and weird edge in the Promaster. We value our space and didn’t want to sacrifice valuable inches just to make the wall perfect. (HINT: upper cabinets will hide the worst of it anyway.)
