Beginners Guide to CustomSettings and Bootstrap ini files in MDT - Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
In this tutorial, I go over basics of the two commonly used configuration files in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MTD); CustomSettings.ini and Bootstrap.ini. Both of these files follow the same configuration structure hence once you learn it, you can use it customize your MDT deployments.
Please note this is an introduction or basic level explanation of configuration settings/options within the CustomSettings and Bootstrap files. This is not an in-depth overview of numerous variable options available us. I may upload a more comprehensive tutorial covering MDT and SCCM (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager) variables later in the future.
🛑Correction:
When I was editing the Bootstrap.ini file around 19th minute mark, it should be:
UserID=Administrator
UserPassword=XXXXXX
The tutorial shows ":" instead of "=" between the variable name and the values, which is incorrect.
