Film scoring documentary E02: How I choose the right sounds to score Colony
In this Film Scoring Documentary I want to show you how I choose the right sounds to score the Sci-Fi trailer for Colony. Think of this as a short film scoring tutorial on how to find the right sounds for scoring a short movie scene. My personal choices and why. As this is a Sci-Fi Action Trailer I went for more hybrid and sound processed libraries like Symphonic Destruction, Vento, Vocalise 3 and Damage 2 this time.
I feel honoured that Bryan Waters from @The Cue Tube phoned me some days ago asking if I wanted to partecipate in his film scoring challenge "1 scene 4 composers" where we will receive a clip and then need to do some scoring to picture. I then decided to use this opportunity to make some short tutorials about movie scoring. Today I show you which sounds I have been chosen to score this trailer.
In the next episode I will talk about the musical choices and the final walkthrough.
