Somehow, I accidentally deleted the original copy of this video last night. Its original release date was almost two years ago (10/05/15).
So, I decided to re-upload it. With the release of my animated textures tutorial coming up, I thought it'd only be fitting.
Here's the original description:
FINALLY! I GOT TEXTURE MAPS IN ELEMENT 3D TO WORK!
The letdown – I don't have any good animated textures to use...
...So I kinda had to create some makeshift ones myself!
The first step was to make a dark liquid texture. I decided to make it using three different types of turbulent noise which I then layered in Element. I also experimented with planar replication and putting the main part of the logo and the "TV" pieces on separate groups.
Last note: this thing was a monstrosity to render. I had probably over 50 keyframes on a single layer, and I'm pretty sure I could count more than 15 layers in my comp (on my measly MacBook Air). But I guess you probably knew that already.
P.S. (actually my last note): I don't exactly agree with Deadpool. In my opinion, everything actually looks sexier in black, not red. Take that, Deadpool. ;)
