Learning Coda: A Hotdog Giveaway Promotion Implementation Using The Coda Formula Language
Wheww, What a ride. This walkthrough uses only Coda to reimagine a real world workflow that used to take several tools. This video is just under 12 minutes, but the 1st draft took hours. Somebody said to really learn something, prepare to teach it. This was an eye-opening adventure that helped me tweak my production process.
Near the end I was stumped because it looked like the formulas stopped working... but I think through it (right on camera ---yikes!) -a great lesson learned about date-dependent workflows.
I even come to a conclusion to call the items in the formula dictionary functions (instead of formulas) to keep stuff straight in my head. --a great conclusion that works for "ME".
I'm glad a hotdog stand worked as a business model for this example, because Hannah Hotdog sounds super cute for a cartoon character and Hannah is one of my favorite Bible characters because she made a vow to God and kept it. She teaches us that prayers don't have to be loud. They can be silent and sincere, because God knows our hearts.
All-in-all, this was an excellent skill-building exercise. In order to get paid, we must provide value to others and I can absolutely see how Coda can be super valuable to others and me.
