Welcome, to react-router-dom in react js
What is React-Router, anyway
This React Js tutorial will teach us how to install and use React Router in a React Js project. We will start with the installation process and then move on to implementing routing in our application.
To get started, you need to have a basic understanding of React Js and its components. You will also need Node.js and npm installed on your system.
First, let's install React Router using npm. Open your terminal or command prompt and navigate to your project directory. Then type the following command:
Copy code
npm install react-router-dom
This will install the latest version of React Router in your project.
Once you have installed React Router, you can start using it in your project. To use React Router, you need to import it in your application. Open your main app component and add the following line:
javascript
Copy code
import { BrowserRouter as Router, Route, Switch } from "react-router-dom";
We have imported three components from React Router: BrowserRouter, Route, and Switch.
The BrowserRouter component provides the basic routing functionality for our application. The Route component allows us to define routes and specify the component that should be rendered when the URL matches the specified path. The Switch component is used to wrap our routes and ensure that only one route is rendered at a time.
Now, let's define some routes for our application. In our example, we will create two pages: Home and About. Create two new components called Home.js and About.js. In each of these components, add some basic content that will be displayed on the page.
Here, we have defined two routes using the Route component. The exact prop is used to ensure that the home page is only displayed when the URL matches exactly. The path prop is used to specify the URL path for each route, and the component prop is used to specify the component that should be rendered when the URL matches the path.
Now, when you run your application and navigate to the home page (http://localhost:3000/), you should see the content of the Home component. If you navigate to the about page (http://localhost:3000/about), you should see the content of the About component.
That's it! You have successfully installed and used React Router in your React Js project. With React Router, you can now easily handle dynamic routing and navigation in your application. There are many other features and options available in React Router, such as nested routes and URL parameters, so be sure to check out the official documentation for more information.
