Van Life in Colorado | Mountain Biking the 18 Road Trails in Fruita
VAN CAMPING RIGHT AT THE MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS IN FRUITA, COLORADO!
Have you ever stumbled upon the MOST PERFECT CAMPSITE YOU HAVE EVER seen and not wanted to leave? Well, that is exactly what happened to us as we neared Grand Junction, CO after leaving the San Juans Mountains behind. A cliffside campsite right on the edge of a gorgeous Mesa with the Gunnison River below us! YES please :)
Unfortunately, we did end up having to leave because we needed water and some much needed time on our bikes. Fruita 18 Mile Trails was just the place, endless BLM camping right at the trail network with loads of FLOWY, well built trail right out your door (er van).
Our 3 favorite trails in order:
1) PBR with its berms, little jumps and excellent flow
2) Joes Ridge, our favorite ridge trail with some seriously fast sections
3) Zippity Do Dah, it was VERY fun with its exposed sections + steep ups and downs
Our plan is to head over to Grand Junction now and ride the Lunch Loops Trails + hang out in the area before leaving Colorado behind. Word is there is a winter storm with snow expected on the way :)
