What is granular synthesis?
It is magic sampling.
But more precisely:
Granular synthesis is a sound synthesis method that operates on the microsound time scale. It is based on the same principle as sampling. However, the samples are split into small pieces of around 1 to 100 ms in duration. These small pieces are called grains. (END QUOTE).
Patch Notes:
For this patch I highlight the end of an improvisation, where the make noise morphagene takes over and becomes a melodic, drone loop, transporting us through the realm of tape and microsound to the deep recesses of memory units.
It joins forces with Mutable Instruments BEADS.
I sampled two Mannequins Mangrove, one with the PPM expander and a Moog Mother 32.
