Mord-Sith are an elite group of women warriors. They use torture, pleasure, and dark magic in order to connect with their victims and make them their slaves.
Kahlan's father was confessed in battle and Cara's - tortured and forced into submission. Once Kahlan's mother died, her father regained his senses and turned on his daughters. Cara was tricked into believing her father sold her to the Mord-Sith. As a little girl, she was forced to kill him.
