Centre to set up 12 new Industrial Smart Cities, aim to create 4 million jobs
India is set to undergo a transformative industrial revolution with the development of 12 new Industrial Smart Cities. The initiative was taken under National Industrial Corridor Development Programme with an investment of Rs 28,602 cr. Union Minister Piyush Goyal underscored that the projects aim to create up to 1 million direct jobs, 3 million indirect jobs. While addressing a press conference, Piyush Goyal said that industrial corridors will cover the entire country like Golden Quadrilateral.
