Australian banknotes have included imagery of our First Nations cultures and peoples for over one century. This video showcases imagery of the different series of banknotes, and reflects the transition from portraying First Nations peoples and cultures as peripheral elements, framed within an unfamiliar context, towards awareness of their independent identities and histories.
