With „Kids“ Riviera and Alessa Labate teamed up to deliver a great homage to their childhood. „Kids“ reflects the remembrance of people who see each other again after years and think back of years gone by.
R I V I E R A is a DJ / production duo comprised of Italian musicians Michele Consoli and Matteo Barbadori. As individual artists, they came together in 2021 to create a new sound in the dance scene. The duo’s work is heavily influenced by EDM and dance, and references a range of other musical genres including Indie, Pop, Funk, Trap, and Reggaeton.
Alessia Labate is a 22 year old Milan-based singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist. Born into a musical household — her father a musician and mother a dancer — she’s always been surrounded by music.
Alessia was first discovered as a contestant on Io Canto (Italian talent show) at the age of 12. As a teenager Alessia began to develop her songwriting and, at the age of 17, she participated in The Voice of Italy. These high profile experiences genuinely shaped Alessia’s approach to creating music and helped pave the way for her to enter a prestigious songwriting school to perfect her talent (CET - Mogol).
After graduating high school Alessia moved to Rome and then Milan to make music 24/7. Alessia signed to a NY-based management company following the release of her debut single in January 2019. She then started traveling to collaborate with producers and songwriters from around the world while launching a steady stream of releases at the same time.
Alessia’s music has been featured in many editorial playlists and on leading EDM radio shows: "Summertime", released with French duo Combogroove and remixed by Souvenyr, was featured on Nicky Romero's Protocol Radio and got added to Protocol’s Spotlight playlist; “Stay” with Guy Arthur released on STMPD records (Martin Garrix owned label) was premiered on Martin Garrix Radio and included in several Spotify editorial playlists; the international collab. Cool with Magnus and Unread is approaching 2M on NCS’s YouTube channel and achieving Spotify success at almost 1M with many editorials; and the brand new “Drive Me Home” alongside Italians Dave Crusher and JackMar just released on Smash the House Records (official Tomorrowland label) with support from DJ MAG Germany and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Alessia’s Spotify editorial playlists include: New Music Friday (Italy, Philippines, Norway, Gulf), Friday Cratediggers, Fresh Finds, Tokyo Beat Club, Dance Brandneu, Dance Rising, Hot New Dance, Dance Coversì, Fresh Finds and Fresh Finds: Basement.
In 2020, Alessia returned to releasing her own music during the breakout of the pandemic — a choice that kept her mind healthy during lockdown spent with her boyfriend in Milan. Just Love, released in March was featured by Spotify Italy on their editorial playlists “New Music Friday”, “Il Caffè del Buongiorno” and “Viral 50 Italia”. OMG followed in April accompanied by a “quarantine” music video shot with an iPhone while stuck at home. The song was featured byBillboard as part of their “Queer Necessities” in May. Alessia's latest single Something Special came out in June accompanied by a music video directed by Walter Coppola and an editorial photo shoot exclusively featured onnss G-Club.
As a songwriter, Alessia’s co-writes cut by other pop artists include: “Carried Away" by The Voice of Holland runner-up Stef Classens; “Zingara” by former Amici contestant Ellynora; "Tonight", "Part Time Lover" and "Brok(en)" for former X-Factor contestant Gabriele Esposito; "Blue" the album by Italian YouTuber Muriel; “Wrong Or Right” the new single by Chiara Grispo, a former X-Factor and Amici contestant.
„Kids“ comes with great Slap-Bass elements and a strong baseline but in the same way a really strong topline that instantly takes everybody back to their childhood. This is all a good track needs. Check it out!
