How to Create a System Restore Point in Windows 10 (2020)
Are you wondering how to create a System Restore Point in Windows 10? In this video, I will show you an easy way to create a permanent System Restore Point in Windows 10, that you can revert back to, if you need it.
The System Restore Point is a feature of Windows that allows you to revert some changes of your computer to an earlier state. System restore point is used to reverse the system files, installed applications, Windows Registry and system settings. Simply put, consider a System Restore Point as a milestone that has been marked or achieved, just before a major change occurs on your computer. In event of an unexpected failure of an update or a major installation of a software, you simply revert back to the saved milestone, or in this case, the saved System Restore Point and save yourself the trouble of dealing the failures.
Creating a System Restore Point typically takes anything from under 1 minute to 5 minutes. This can vary based on the data that Windows needs to process in order to create the Restore Point. A System Restore Point takes up Disk Space on your device and you can control how much of this disk space you wish to allocate to create and store Restore Points.
Once a restore point is created, you will be able to see the list of all available Restore Points and in future, you can revert back to any of the Restore Points that are available in the list.
If you need to delete any System Restore Point, you can also do this as well. Sadly, Windows 10 does not allow you to delete restore points selectively. It forces you to delete all System Restore Points, except the last restore point. This is not of much help when you intent to delete only specific restore points. But do not worry. I will share a very easy and free way to delete a specific System Restore Point or multiple System Restore Points, using a free 3rd party tool.
