This 8-bit / Pixelate Davinci Resolve macro will take care of that with ease. By simply dropping the effect onto your asset, whether it’s a Text, a picture, or even a video, you’ll be able to achieve the 8-bit look. With just a few sliders, you can customize the look of the effect. It can also give you that mosaic look.
You can customize the following options:
Pixel Size
Frame Repeat (how smooth/choppy you want it to look)
Color Steps (how many color steps the asset can have)
Include grid?
Include background grid?
Override grid? (gives you the control to set the number of rows and columns for the grid)
Out of the box, it works with any 16:9 projects (1080p, 2K, 4K, etc.). If you want to use it for other aspect ratios, you can choose to override the number of grid and set it yourself.
