You know and we haven't seen Lamborghini or Ferrari put out their full EV supercars just quite yet. So BYD with the Yangwang brand Is it making a rapid entry into the supercar market?
BYD launched its Supercar YangWang U9, which can jump, dance and make a u-turn, 2024 is preparing to start sales in China. Starting price of YangWang U9 is $176,000.
Under the hood, it carries 100 kWh battery capacities. The engine produces horsepower of 1305 hp. a maximum torque of 1,500 torque meters, reaches a top speed of 300 km/h, a full battery life of over 1,000 kilometers, and a quick charge of 5 minutes to charge 80% of the battery. It comes with 2 persons of seating capacity. It is offered only in all-wheel drive.
With this, the brand has also showcased a ground-breaking tech, called the Disus-X advanced suspension system. Also equipped with the e4 Platform, the supercar boasts 2-second acceleration from 0 to 100 km.
It sits on BYD’s e4 platform and is equipped with the DiSus-X suspension and stabilization system, which allows the car to drive only on three wheels and dance.
YangWang U9 was designed by ex-Audi veteran and BYD design chief Wolfgang Egger. And as the saying goes, more would be less. It seems they focused on making their first supersport as outstanding as possible, and the smoothness of the lines was the sacrifice. Design-wise, the U9 looks like a great sport that ate some steroids.
The logo of Yangwang is inspired by the Chinese oracle-bone inscription for (meaning electricity). As one of the oldest yet recognizable hieroglyphs in the world, has witnessed the evolving implication of electricity, which echoes the persistent progress of human civilization.
