SAP Query: Default User Group and Default Query Area
In SAP Query, data from one or more SAP tables is selected and output based on an InfoSet and a user group assigned to a workspace. No ABAP programming knowledge is required.
To manage SAP queries in transaction SQ01, a user group is proposed first, but this usually does not correspond to the group to which the queries are assigned. Therefore, you must first click on the “Change user group” button in SQ01 and select the correct user group. It may be necessary to change the workspace in the menu function “Environment, Query areas” beforehand so that the SAP queries are displayed. This procedure must be repeated each time after logging into the SAP system, which can be time-consuming.
However, there is a trick to speed up this process considerably: by pre-assigning the workspace and the user group via parameters. I explain how this works in detail in this video.
