Just 'Cuz Pro 3D Printer: Building the Ultimate Budget-Friendly Carbon Fiber Nylon Printer
Today I’ll be covering how I modified a very affordable 3D printer into a carbon fiber nylon printing machine, without breaking the bank! You do not need to spend $1000+ on a printer in order to print with these exotic materials - in fact you can do just fine for well under $400 in total. While I am not confident enough with this process to make a tutorial on all the changes you need to make, there are plenty of dedicated 3D printing channels who helped me and can help you too if this is the road you choose to go down. I've left a link to a spreadsheet below including all the upgrades I made and the printer itself I used as a starter platform.
This was basically a two-week project I undertook in order to expand my manufacturing capabilities into all the fancy materials that are used in the most competitive antweight, beetle weight, and larger bots. I would definitely never recommend someone who just got their first 3D printer go through this extensive modification process, but if you have a 3D printer, know the ins and outs, and want to do more with it, I can say you probably won't be disappointed if you choose to upgrade.
