SANGAI ANTHEM
The Sangai Anthem with the name
"YAROU SANGAI- THE LOST KINGDOM"
is based on the book of the same name by Dr Kh. Samungou (Environmentalist).
SANGAI is an endemic and endangered subspecies of Eld's deer found only in "Keibul Lamjao National Park", which is the only floating wildlife sanctuary in the world.
The Sanctuary floats on one of the largest freshwater lakes in India.
One of the popular folk legends states that the slaying of the SANGAI is regarded as an unpardonable sin as the SANGAI is interpreted as the binding soul between humans and nature.
TAMNA SANGGAI RECORDS would like to plead with the masses to not turn blind eyes to the cries of the SANGAI and join hands to save them before it is too late.

The floating vegetation
of Loktak lake, shelters
an animal called Sangai
who dances gracefully
and plays cheerfully.
They thrive on the
on the lap of mother Keibul,
enjoys among the vegetation; their habitat.
Rarest and one-of-a-kind
oh lovely Yarou (animal),
oh lovely Yarou
our precious Sangai.
Finest of all, you shine alone in the whole wide world.
Daughter of Keibul Lamjao,
oh lovely Yarou (animal),
oh lovely Yarou
our precious Sangai.
She runs as she waits for her mate,
she turned back, and she turns occasionally.
Golden colour,
a gift from kangleipak (Manipur).
rarest and one-of-a-kind,
a gift from this Land,
that shines alone.
Nature has changed,
and Loktak lake is degrading.
Various birds have migrated to survive, on their own.
The harmony is disturbed,
and the habitat is affected.
The Sangai is weeping from the lap of Keibul Lamjao:
Save us! save us!
Sangai is calling out to save them,
desperately.
