Traditional Bull Fighting in Fujairah: No money, no blood, only honour.
It is a decades old bedouin tradition of bullfighting that is kept alive. The game is not bloody as in the Spanish bull fighting. There are no matadors and there is no prize money involved. The breeder of the winning bull on the other hand takes home the bragging rights of winning the strongest bull in Fujairah, if not the UAE!.
The bullfighting is more like bull wrestling or head butting, Here the two bulls lock horns in a fight that usually ends with no blood shed.
The bull which forces the the opponent to back down is declared the winner.If neither backs away then it is a draw. A panel of jury checks a bull’s breed, weight and pedigree to set the pairings.
The bout draw a lot pf spectators from across the region.
