Reminiscences in Red And Blue Solo on Baritone Sax
Originally written on and for piano, but it really is above my ability to realize it there. So I moved the melody line to the Sax, which lets me comp on piano.
The tune was originally written in the key of F major, but that is too high for my voice so I have transposed it down to B flat. That puts the solo to high for the Tenor, hence playing it on baritone. Fortunately, that puts the Bari part in G which makes this playable.
I did not play with a click track (should be obvious) because I wanted the time to flow. Unfortunately, it makes it feel a bit rushed in places. Since this is supposed to fit into a larger song, I am constrained by the tempo of the vocal part. I don't want that to drag, but it has significantly less melodic movement than this solo.
Like everything I post here, it is a work in progress, not meant to be final products, but rather a way to share my ideas.
