My first colored LED studio lights...here are my thoughts about this after owning this for a little over 1 year.
As with all stands, since this has a top-heavy setup with the weight not centered, always put the LED panel above one of the legs to avoid tipping over.
For the malfunctioning knob, I may try to open the unit up and see if it's a contact issue.
