Car Camping In Our 2024 Subaru Crosstrek in the Rockies (ASMR)
We took our 2024 Crosstrek Onyx to the Canadian Rockies for some car camping and hiking.
Our next step is installing a roof cargo box as things do get cramped.
We slept in the car on this one to test out the space. I am 5"10' (Scott) and can just barely stretch out with the front seats moved up. We used a memory foam mattress with sleep pads (inflatable) and flattened out the surface using sheets. There is also a lack of headroom - sitting up isn't really a thing.
We came from a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, which had a little more room.
We will probably be tenting it instead of sleeping in the vehicle as long as we have the Crosstrek.
