Today I am sharing with you how you can make Soya Chaap at home!
The soya chaap available in the market is very unhygienic and made with refined flour.
This recipe shows you how you can make soya chaap at home very easily using very little flour and more of soya.
We use Soya Chunks, Soya flour and some refined flour to make the soya chaap.
Along with the soya chaap recipe, I have also shared with you the recipe of a tandoori Soya chaap.

Recipe :
Soya Chaap
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 12-15
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup soya flour
2 cups soya chunks
½ tsp salt
Method:
Mix 1 cup water in the flour and beat well. Rest for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile cook the soya chunks in boiling water for 7-8 minutes.
Remove, drain and rinse with cold water.
Drain the water and squeeze out all the water from the soya chunks.
Grind the soya chunks in the blender to make a coarse paste.
Mix in the flour paste, soya flour, salt and knead to a dough. Add more flour if requied.
Divide the dough into 4 parts and roll out each part into a thicvk roti.
Wrap the roti around an ice cream stick.
Cook the prepared sticks in boiling water for 10 minutes. Remove and rinse in cold water. Store refrigerated.
Tandoori Soya Chaap
Preparation Time: 40 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
½ Cup Hung Curd
2 Tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 Green Chillies, Finely Chopped
2 Tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
¼ Tsp Turmeric Powder
1 Tsp Chaat Masala
½ Tsp Black Pepper Powder
Salt to Taste
½ Tsp Garam Masala Powder
1 Tbsp Kasuri Methi
2 Tbsp Mustard Oil
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
6 Sticks Soya Chaap
Method:
Remove the stick from the chaap and cut it into 1”pieces.
Blend the Kashmiri red chili powder in warm mustard oil. Mix inn all the other ingredients for the marinade. Blend well.
Add the soya chaap pieces and mix well.
Cover the pan and keep aside for 30 minutes.
Place a piece of burning coal in the center of the bowl. Pour a tsp of ghee and cover immediately. Smoke for 5 minutes.
Cook the chaap in a pan for 5 minutes then grill over direct flame until nicely browned.
Transfer the cooked chaap to the pan and toss the soya chaap with the remaining marinade.
Serve immediately with green chutney.
