Can playing quantum games actually help you to learn about quantum physics and quantum computing??
This is a question that CalTech and Google AI have considered over the past 18 months and the answer is that playing quantum games, alone, will have little effect as an educational channel however, playing quantum games can augment a traditional quantum computing course in an engaging and productive way.
The CalTech-Google AI collaboration has accumulated a number of quantum games and made them available to K12 educational institutions and high schools around the world. In this video, Quecwans from around the world play the Zeros and Ones game (formerly known as the Peres-Mermin magic square) in the traditional fashion. They soon realise that they can only win 8/9ths of the time and after as little as 20 rounds the odds are astronomical that you could win all of the games! However, using a quantum strategy we can win EVERY time from now until infinity.
