"LEARN TO WHIP OVER 40" was inspired by requests from subscribers". How to whip has consistently been one of the most requested vids. I'm joined by my whiptastic friend Sean. Sean learned to whip a MTB in over 30s and I learned to whip a MTB in over 50 so between us, we kinda learned to whip in our 40s!!!
Good news! Learn to whip a mountain bike is can be one of the first bits of style that any mountain biker can add to their jumping. All you need to know is how to jump a mountain bike and how to make an S turn.
More good news! The moment you learn your first small whips you are instantly on the top of the heap for feelings you can get from a bike. Whipping an mtb is one of the all time most satisfying feelings that a mountain bike has to offer.
There are a lot of elements to learn a whip if you want to push it out to 90 degrees. But to make it easier to learn your first MTB whips we simplified down to just two elements. Each of the elements alone will get you sideways and combining the two techniques is a lot of fun and can make your whips even steezier.
We're excited that your whip journey is starting here. Your first whips should be really small. Take your time. Go slow. Add input little by little. And enjoy the process. The great news is even a few degrees feels fantastic.
