Managed Code
1. The code executed by the CLR, instead of the operating system
2. In the managed code the runtime will provide services like a garbage
collector, type checking, exception handling
3. The code is compiled by the language compiler into IL (intermediate
language) code
Unmanaged Code
1. The code that directly executes under the operating system
2. Does not provide services like a garbage collector, type checking, exception
handling taken care of by the programmer
3. The code will be compiled into native code
