How to Install Windows Server 2019 in VMware and Create Domain Controller, Configure DHCP, Manage Active directory & Create Group Policy
Here are the steps on how to install Windows Server 2019 in VMware and create a domain controller, configure DHCP, manage Active Directory, and create a group policy:
1. Install VMware Workstation. VMware Workstation is a software application that allows you to create virtual machines on your computer. You can download VMware Workstation from the VMware website.
2. Create a new virtual machine. Once you have installed VMware Workstation, you can create a new virtual machine. To do this, open VMware Workstation and click on the "Create a New Virtual Machine" button.
3. Choose a Windows Server 2019 installation image. You will need to choose a Windows Server 2019 installation image to install on your virtual machine. You can download a Windows Server 2019 installation image from the Microsoft website.
4. Configure the virtual machine settings. You will need to configure the virtual machine settings, such as the amount of memory and disk space to allocate to the virtual machine.
5. Start the virtual machine. Once you have configured the virtual machine settings, you can start the virtual machine. The Windows Server 2019 installation wizard will start.
6. Install Windows Server 2019. Follow the instructions in the Windows Server 2019 installation wizard to install Windows Server 2019 on your virtual machine.
7. Configure the domain controller. Once Windows Server 2019 is installed, you need to configure it as a domain controller. To do this, open Server Manager and click on the "Add Roles and Features" button.
8. Select the "Active Directory Domain Services" role. In the Add Roles and Features Wizard, select the "Active Directory Domain Services" role.
9. Click on the "Next" button.
10. Click on the "Install" button.
11. The Active Directory Domain Services installation wizard will start. Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the installation.
12. Configure DHCP. Once the Active Directory Domain Services installation is complete, you need to configure DHCP. To do this, open Server Manager and click on the "Manage" menu.
13. Click on "DNS and DHCP".
14. Click on the "Add Servers" button.
15. Select the virtual machine that you installed Windows Server 2019 on and click on the "Add" button.
16. Click on the "Close" button.
17. Right-click on the "DHCP" node in the left pane and select "New Scope".
18. Follow the instructions in the New Scope Wizard to create a new DHCP scope.
19. Configure Active Directory. Once the DHCP scope is created, you need to configure Active Directory. To do this, open Active Directory Users and Computers and manage the Active Directory objects.
20. Create a group policy. Once you have configured Active Directory, you can create a group policy. To do this, open Group Policy Management and create a new group policy object.
