How to play Spotify on Alexa
Did you know that you could any music or podcast you want for free on Amazon Echo dot for free by linking your Spotify to Alexa. Watch this quick tutorial to learn how!
If you've already installed Amazon Alexa app, then, you could skip to 00:26!
Installing Alexa App - 0:00
Linking Spotify to Alexa - 0:26
Set up Spotify as default - 1:17
Echo as a speaker when playing Spotify - 1:55
First you'd need to install Amazon Alexa App on your phone.
Once you've sign in to your Alexa App, then you’d need to find the Spotify service by going to the More tab, then select "Skills & Games" and then in the search type Spotify, select Spotify, and then select "Enable to use".
If you have already set up and sign in to your Spotify in your phone, then Alexa will link Spotify automatically, as it's in my case. Otherwise, you'd need to sign in to your Spotify by entering your email ID & password.
NOTE:
For Alexa to be able to play Spotify, it'll need to access account data & take actions in Spotify on your behalf!
Since, Spotify is not your default service for music and/or podcast, you'd need to say "Alex - play podcast on SPOTIFY" rather than just saying "Alex - play podcast"!
You can change the default Podcast to Spotify. Similarly, you could change your default "Music" and "Artist and Genre Stations".
