Everyone's favorite action hero in the cutting room is back! Editor Eddie Hamilton ACE returns to The Rough Cut to give you an inside look at his Avid Media Composer timelines for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. Eddie demonstrates how a timeline is much more than a way for an editor to build a story, it's also a vital means of communication between the picture editor and the sound, vxf and color grading teams. Eddie shows how track labeling, clip colors, markers and subcap effects help with the organization. He also details how he tightens perfomances with Avid FluidMorph and up-mixes stereo tracks to 5.1 using audio plug-ins. On top of that, Eddie gives us some insight into the best practices for doing title cards and ways to use video encoding to keep track of how a shot is evolving over time.
